Zone 1 and Zone 2 are not working?
These are usually drip lines and will not pop out of the ground. See more below on drip lines.
What are drip lines?
Zone 1 & Zone 2 are usually drip lines. Drip lines are hoses with holes that emit the water slowly, at a drip and are laid directly on the dirt. In the flower bed they are covered with mulch and in the parkway (the strip of grass between the sidewalk and the street), they are covered with sod. They are used as a water conservation measure, so you will never see any heads popping up in these areas. They best way to make sure they are working is to check if the soil is moist, after you have run the system, similar to the way you check a houseplant.
How many days a week do I need to water?
Please check with you city or HOA rules regarding rules on watering days/times
Do I need to winterize my irrigation system?
No need to bleed the lines or anything here in Texas. If a prolonged freeze is expected, please turn your system off at the controller, as well as at the double check (see “How-To Videos” tab)
Where is my double check or backflow device located?
Your double check is the rectangular box with the green lid usually located in the front yard. If you have an alley, it may be located in the back by the driveway.
